About JumpStart
Since health care benefits are an important factor in post-transplant health,
the Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF) makes it a priority to support clients
in finding permanent positions with medical insurance benefits. In an effort to
achieve that goal, GTF is pleased to introduce JumpStart.
JumpStart (formerly the JobLink program) helps organ transplant candidates,
recipients, and their families accomplish career goals through its accredited
employment services, strategic partnerships and educational resources.

JumpStart Services
Services available through JumpStart include referrals to career development
services; one-on-one coaching; educational resources and training; and
financial evaluation and budgeting referrals. JumpStart also offers assistance
in identifying career options, completing skills assessment tools, and defining
job search techniques. Other informational resources are also available.
While JumpStart is not a placement service, it does provide clients with the
tools and information necessary to prepare them for employment. All services
are customized for the organ transplant community and are tailored to meet the
specific needs and career level of each client.
Strategic Partnerships
JumpStart works with community resources that provide information about health
insurance, Social Security benefits, job readiness, government assistance and
legal needs. The program also offers clients referrals to short-term
educational and training resources in areas like computer skills, customer
service and income tax preparation.
Apprenticeship Program
JumpStart offers an Apprenticeship Program, a 16-week part-time apprenticeship
that provides clients with new skills training in their chosen fields. A
stipend is paid to those who are admitted to the program.
The Apprenticeship Program reinforces the competitive strength of clients'
résumés while improving their opportunities for finding permanent
employment.
Eligibility Guidelines
JumpStarts services are available to organ transplant candidates listed
with the United Network for Organ Sharing, transplant recipients, and their
spouses and dependents. Clients must be Georgia residents and at least 16 years
of age.
