Pitch in to Help Save Lives

Since my involvement with the Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF) began in 1992, I've been inspired by the courage and determination exhibited by the organ transplant candidates, recipients, living donors, and families I've met. After hearing their personal stories about the impact of transplantation, I agreed to assist GTF in any way I can – but now I'm asking for your help.

In 2004, GTF was able to provide over $700,000 in direct financial assistance to candidates, recipients, living donors, and their families throughout the state of Georgia.

The proceeds from this campaign will provide assistance for transplant candidates and recipients like Luke Cowdell, who at 11 days old received a life-saving heart transplant. With help from GTF, his family was able to obtain the critical financial assistance they needed for a successful transplant.

We're asking for your support today because many of the 1,600 transplant candidates and 4,900 transplant recipients in Georgia will need GTF's guidance to successfully manage the transplant process. Like Luke, they depend on GTF to provide the financial, educational and emotional assistance they so desperately need.

A new financial contribution of $500 or more donated to GTF will be matched dollar-for-dollar by a challenge grant through The Carlos and Marguerite Mason Trust. Also, contributors who gave $500 or more last year and increase their gift by at least 10 percent this year will have that increase matched by The Carlos and Marguerite Mason Trust.

Please pitch in to help save lives with the Georgia Transplant Foundation!

Sincerely, Tom Glavine
