The 11th annual Wellness Conference, held on October 20 at the Georgia International Convetion Center, is designed with you in mind. It's an opportunity for you to socialize with other candidates and recipients,  learn more about the resources available to you through GTF and the community, and gain valuable medical information directly from physicians and other transplant healthcare providers.

This year, the theme is "Giving Back." Everyone who is impacted by transplantation understands that the gift of life is the greatest offering that an individual or family can make. We ask that attendees this year think about how they can "pay it forward" and give something back to the community.

With this in mind, our keynote speaker is James Redford, a liver transplant recipient who founded the James Redford Institute (JRI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the public about the need for organ and tissue donation through film, educational outreach, and on the web.

In addition, we've included a session titled "Keeping the Gift Going: Giving Back After Transplant." And to give everyone an opportunity to participate in giving back, we ask that you consider bringing a small toy to donate to young patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Toy donation guidelines can be found on the back of this brochure.

This exciting event is the largest educational conference devoted to transplant recipients and candidates in the state. We don't want you to miss it, so join us at the beautiful Georgia International Convention Center on Saturday, October 20, 2007.

UNOS-listed transplant candidates should plan to attend the Candidate Dinner on Friday, October 19.

Each transplant recipient, candidate, or living donor may bring one guest to the conference. This all-day program includes a continental breakfast, lunch, free parking and a gift. Registration is $10 per person.

We encourage you to sign up early to secure your place. Since space is limited and there is often a waiting list, please notify us if you realize you cannot attend after making your reservation. We hope to see you there!
