Medications are an essential part of the post-transplant medical regimen. There are emergency and transitional situations in which transplant patients find themselves with no coverage for medications and unable to afford this cost from their own finances. In order to protect the transplanted organ and the patient’s life, the Georgia Transplant Foundation offers temporary medication assistance. The amount of assistance is limited according to the circumstances and time needed to implement a permanent plan for medications.
- Prescription(s) must accompany financial application.
- Over-the-Counter medications are not covered.
- Applicants are expected to work with their transplant center social worker for information on other resources and to develop a permanent plan to obtain medication(s).
